Tablecloth

With the evenings getting longer, I'm already getting a bit in the winter mood, and red is the perfect winter colour to me. So I bought a cheap tablecloth to exercise my embroidery a bit.
For the eyes of the rabbit I tried my first french knots. If you want to try this, use this tutorial, it's great. It took me a bit of cursing and trying again and again, but here is the result. Not that bad for a first time.

And Ward was watching my progress with a lot of interest.
This afternoon, my dear husband found these wooden spools in an old cupboard in the garage. I think this box belonged to my grandmother.

That is so cute, I love needle work. You have done a fine job.I bet the table cloth is going to be cute. Your kitty is adorable as well. Do you keep the threads away form the cats? With mine I have to be so careful, and it can really cause problems if they injest them.

They are only tempted to take my threads when I am knitting or crocheting.

I guess your garage is full of treasures!!! Look at those colors, did not fade! Wonderful box and great embroidery you are doing. I never did anything decent on embroidery...procrastinating...one of these days I will try!

Isn't your husband amazing! So sweet to go on a treasure hunt in the garage. I bet he was so excited when he came to show you what he dug up. Anyway, I think it's wonderful when you find something you completely forgot about, but still interests you.
