Wolf the cat

Oh yes, I know I am good looking!

Felted cat

Waiting for a face and a dress!
It's always a surprise to me how a crafted animal or doll gets its own personality, the moment you give it a face.

Vintage cross stitching

This were the very first craft books I had as a child. I did try to make things out of this books, but I remember it wasn't a big success. Somehow my work always ended up in a mess of threads.

I still like these books a lot, it's impossible to buy things like this anymore, or it has to be secondhand... Or japanese...
I guess people in Belgium do not have a need for craft books or magazines.

Annuals

Yesterday, I went to the local farmer to buy my flowers.

And now, all they need is water, water, water!

I want to post even the most complete failures, guess it wasn't my day when I made this...

...and the final breakfast drawing!

Belgian heat wave

It hasn't been raining for a month now, talking about global warming.
But for the moment I'm not complaining!

Colours

Lovely red strawberries, my first of the season!

My favourite colour scheme, I found this nice picture in a dutch culinary magazine, Delicious. Nice recipies too.

Nice colours, maybe to make a blue felted bunnie?

Something I can not resist: drawing materials, especially colour pencils and pastels.

Beatrix Potter

I really like this Beatrix Potter story, it's a bit scary.
Beatrix Potter is my alltimes favourite illustrator, since the day I got "Tom Kitten" when I was 8 years old. I went to see the movie "Mrs. Potter", it disappointed me because Renee Zellweger played the main part. I should have preferred a british actress in this role. But I thought the landscapes were stunning!

And this Jeremy Fisher belongs to my daughter!

Breakfast

My new drawing challenge: the breakfast table. I'm not an early bird at all, so I guess this will be a hard week for me!
By the way, this blog was made by 2 friends who like to get up early!

And this one is nice too, beautiful watercolours and yummie pictures of breakfasts in Paris.

Felted bunny

My first finished project in needle felt. It's still very difficult to sculpt it the way I have in mind, I hope that this will get better with some practise! I made the dress using a tutorial by Mollychicken.

Fabrics and ribbons

Sweet dreams

Isabelle

A lovely book I received from my husband yesterday. It's a comic I read as a child, and it's about a girl that goes to enchanted places. It was made by Will, a very talented Belgian comics drawer.

The last shoes

Frustration

I wanted to try the technique of needle felting, after I saw a tutorial at nimbleknot, but in my enthusiasm, I broke all my needles.
So this bunny has to wait, until the crafts shop in our village opens on Tuesday.

Cinderella

Ah, sweet memories...

as a child, I wanted to talk with the animals, as Cinderella did.
