Late spring cleaning

Finally, I pulled myself together and started cleaning! The bathroom was my first target.

I didn't dust this Duck-collection, though, that's for the next time...

Have I already told you I'm a real soap-addict? This box smells of green tea, love it!

Strange weather

Outside it's hot and damp, inside the house it's chilly. Everything is growing fast now.

I like to sit here to catch the late sun.

The sky looks threatening here, but it didn't start to rain.

Punt thinks it's too hot...

Cuties

I bought this lovely, lovely book here, and I think it is the cutest bear book I have ever seen. Go and see this shop on Dawanda, wonderful things!
Although it's in japanese, the tutorials look not too hard. But I am going to read some instructions on how-to-make-a-bear in english first. And when I find the time, I want to make me a darling bear!

Trying to get back to normal

Due to a lot of visits, birthdays, work at the computer, I am getting a bit overwhelmed by the mess in my house. I need to clean, iron, sort out bills, etc... And when that happens, this is my reaction: I get out in the garden to admire the flowers, stare at the fish in the pond and do...nothing!

Except for reading, gardening and quilting. Yes, I will get there, eventually, stitch by stitch!

I have to make a to do list or a planning, and even that is too much at the moment...
If you have any suggestions on how to clean up a neglected house, please let me know!

Summertime

Went to see Porgy & Bess last thursday (loved the music, decors, costumes),had a lot of partying last weekend (my birthday), and now I am feeling not so good. No more summertime, I'm afraid, it's chilly outside. Time for a bit of blog-rest, see you when I'm feeling better!

Journal update

Fox and Hare

This book "Cookie Cookie Fox and Hare" is one of a serie for early readers. My daughter really loved to read these books when she was starting to read. I think there isn't a translation in English available.
The illustrations are by Thé Tjong-Khing, a Dutch artist. I try to buy everything he makes, I really love his drawing style.

Glorious Month of May

The weather has been to good to sit inside and blog. We have been living in the garden for the past week.

Our cat Spips was caught trying to catch a fish. Luckily the fish never come near enough her paws.

It was even warm enough for me to wear a skirt ...and to eat outside.
But we have to fight a lot of mosquitos this year, I blame the wet winter for that.

Bears etc.

I discovered this blog last weekend, really nice pictures of daily life and great teddybears and other cute stuff!

Knitting addiction

I finally finished this top (I started it last summer, but it wasn't easy enough to do while watching television or talking, so it took me a long time...)

And I made this hat today with some leftover red yarn. I found the pattern here. Why do I look so anxious? I guess I was trying too hard to get my head and hat focused!
