Cats on my quilt

Guess how much time it took, before these two ended on my quilt blocks, spread out on the floor...
Less than three minutes, record broken!

Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures, I had to be quick, and there was almost no light.

A new camera

I got a new camera for my birthday, a Nikon D3000. It's really great to discover and try new things.
First of all, I have to learn to get my pictures sharp...
Great models:
SPIPS

and her mother POOH

Today, my daughter showed me how to play with color balance. Crazy results, this will be fun!

And then back to crafting: I finished a cotton sweater for myself, still need to sew it up, the part of the job I really dislike...

Emily

And here she is, the beautiful cat Emily!

She came with a velvet ball...

...in an bag with her name embroidered on.

It didn't take long before she got company.

I want to make her a beautiful dress, and a sweater, and a scarf...

Busy week

No time to enjoy the sun like these lads...

A lot of work (illustrations for a magazine, a lot of visitors, paperwork...),
but in the evenings, I did a marathon of watching this DVD.

I heard there will be a Cranford Christmas Special this winter, can't hardly wait!

A cat's quilt

February is the shortest month of the year, but it always feels like it is lasting for ever and ever and ever...
I am in desperate need of a bit of sunlight, spring flowers, singing birds, etc...
When I look in magazines at pictures like these (from the spring edition of Marie Claire Idées) , I want bright colours in my house and in my garden.

I know I haven't finished a lot of my projects lately, I have a deadline for a job on the 4th of March, but I did it anyway: I started a little quilt for my cats. I've never made a doll-sized quilt before, and it was quite fun, I finished it in only 2 evenings (hand-stitched).
And tonight I want to start quilting it in front of a good movie!

I hope this cute boy will like his quilt.

Rebuilding

This is the reason why I haven't been blogging a lot lately: we are rebuilding our living and dining room, and having a new terrace. So for the time being, we try to keep up with our daily life in the rooms that are left.
Not so easy with a lot of computer work to do, children starting a new schoolyear, ...
Maybe I'll buy me a tiny house like this one!

The cats are making the best of it, Punt is rather interested in everything that happens.

He even has his own Walk of Fame now!

Treats!

Yesterday, I received a parcel from the US, full of lovely presents!
Soft and beautiful merinos yarn, a tissue holder, two cat collars, cat treats and a nice card!
The tissue holder and collars were handmade, thank you so much, Carrie...
Here you can see Punt inspecting everything (cats are so curious!).

Mmm, what do I smell? (I opened one of the cat treats).

Look at all these goodies...

Spring has sprung...

At last, spring seems to be arriving...I worked in the garden for the first time, the birds are singing, the cats enjoy the sun.

I planted this spirea last year, it has wonderful white blooms now.

Time for a joyful birdies-mosaic!

Knitting with cats

The colour of my knitwork is becoming Pooh beautifully, I think.
