Capelet crazy

Yes, more Flickr inspiration! As you can see, there are a lot of talented knitters around... I don't think I will ever manage to knit something as complicated as the shawls you see here. I've never tried lace knitting, but it looks really beautiful to me.

Clothes with a high waistline, capelets and ribbons give me a real "Jane Austen-feeling". It's a fashion trend that really appeals to me, it always did.

Ahhh! Lace knitting. I started with a scarf (which turned out great) and some socks (which turned out great too). The caplets are pretty cool. I just can't seem to venture beyond lace socks though. I love your little sweater that is a few posts down!

This all reminds me of something out of Jane Austen's books - I've been watching a lot of her lately - there are new remakes of some of her books which are airing on PBS Masterpiece theater at the moment -- I guess that's why I'm seeing "Jane Austen" in everything right now...So charming - the capelets - that is...
