My first attempt at embroidery

And finally, I tried to embroider, this is the result, it looks nice to me, but what do I know?
The only thing that matters to me right now: I love doing this! Like drawing with a needle.
And I want to use a lot of these embroidered birds and other things to use in a quilt for my daughters new room! If only a day could be longer...

Your first? Well done, and quite charming. Did you transfer the bird or just take inspiration and draw it on the fabric? I like it. I agree it gets addictive, quilting does too. I look forward to seing more.

I transferred the bird, I found it in a japanese embroidery book.

I like the little bird... it's just how my doll quilt began, with the embroidered bunny. I hadn't planned it, but once I decided to make it a quilt, it went very fast. Nice thing abouut doll quilts, compared with full size, it's done quickly, even with hand quilting.

Very cute! Your daughter will be so happy to have a homemade quilt! Can't wait to see the finished thing! Keep it up!

Oh, I've always wanted to embroider! Always seems like such a nice portable craft and you can do so many neat things. Your little bird is really cute too :)

I was so surprised to see you on my blog today. I have a friend SABINE from BELGIUM ! We met when we were only nine years old and went all thru school together.

Whata nice blog you have.

Your embroidery is wonderful! I knew you could do it. No plain fabric will be safe around you! ;-)

I think I need that book!

You did a good job for a first attempt, well done! You probably have a good book where all the stitches are clearly explained ?
