Sad news

My son came home for the weekend and I had to tell him about our missing cat. He went looking for him and he found him fifteen minutes ago, under a rhododendron, not very far from our house. He walked straight at him, very strange... my husband and I walked past that very spot...

But Punt was always my son's cat, in a way.
It's very sad, but we comfort ourselves with the thought that he had a very good and long life. And he had been ill for quite some time.

I will miss his cute pink nose and his silly face.

Thanks a lot for all your sweet comments on my previous post. It's the first time that my children have to say goodbye to a pet.

I'm sorry for you loss, such a sweet face. You had him for so long and a good life it was. But it's never easy and the loss is enormous. Even if you have others. the sliver of your heart they fill is always there. I lost an almost 17 year old greyhound recently. People were amazed she was here so long. I was amazed it wasn't nearly long enough. Blessings on all of you.

Sabine - my heart is broken for your loss of such a sweet, sweet kitty. We have experienced similar losses ourselves with pets - (I could tell you one that would rip your heart out!) - so know that I really do understand. It is a loss of a dear family member - and you will hurt for a long time.

If God sends you another kitty - and we are always having one show up here - then know that it is meant to be - and give it a loving home also. It is so hard - but life goes on.

I can tell that she was so loved - she was a lucky kitty. I feel like that is a hole in my heart right now also - she was so beautiful.

i am so glad your son found him. somehow that seems imperative for a sense of completion.

i think the bonds between people and kitties are one of the great great gifts of life (for both sides).

hugs, again, and hoping for sunshine.

I'm a reader of your blog, but this is the first time I write something.
I want to tell goodbye to your friend, my 2-years-old red cat passed away some month ago, but he will live forever in my heart, I can imagine what you feel.

Ciao, bel gattone. Vi rivedrete ancora un giorno, sul ponte dell'arcobaleno.

Thanks for stopping by. Your blog looks lovely, but it's a sad way for me to discover you with such awful news. I'm glad you found him as it's awful wondering where they are. We've had wanderers return after accidents to die at home. Recently we lost one of our much loved cats in a horrific accident outside our home. As it was our 8 year olds cat that she slept with she was bereft. The sadness is awful, but isn't is wonderful to have shared so much with them and have those memories.

Take care.
