Autumn scarf

The colours of our garden inspired me to make an autumn scarf, crocheted in shell stitch.

I used my yarn stash, and did not buy anything new to make this scarf.

I found the instructions for the shell stitch in an old crochet book, but there are a lot of variations on this stitch: here, here and here.
It's quite addictive, I am warning you all!

You got me warned alright! I promise I'll never start my first shell pattern knitting... Rehab would be too hard ;-)

Oops, that should've been shell pattern crocheting, or something like that...

I love the scarf Sabine. What a great idea. I have never done much crochet but I'd love to give that pattern a go. I will sit down with my daughter when she comes at Christmas and we'll do it together. Eli
