I saw your comment about Moomins in "Liivian talossa" and I just had to tell you, that there are Moomin books in english, too. And in other languages as well.
In Finland and in Sweden Moomins have been basic litterature for many many years. And not just for little children, for adults as well. They are wise and adorable.
