Potato salad

You have to try this recipe, easy and very nice... Luc made it out of this book, while I was busy painting.

A new room in progress

After 8 years, it was about time to rearrange Lucy's room.

It's amazing what a girl can gather in a tiny little room like hers in a few years! It took us weeks to empty it...

And today I started painting, more pictures when it's finished!

Blogging while cooking

I think it is about time that my children go back to school... if I have to take pictures while cooking, because I have no idea what to blog about... The inspiration is a bit gone for the moment, there is so much I want to do, and I do nothing (except for cleaning, and reading other peoples blogs, and making to do lists). Do you recognize this?

Autumn in August

More rain and wind today, ideal for a bit of embroidery.

Cuteness

What always strikes me: japanese books, crafts, objects...are often very cute and attractive.

These little frogs are in an amigurumi book I bought on ebay, I did not yet try to make them, I have to study the patterns a bit, before I can start.

And these illustrations are in a very cute book I found in France last year, a day in the life of a bear (his name is Kuma Kuma), illustrations by Kazue Takahashi. The story is a bit sad and melancholic, the bear is living alone in a little house. At the end of the book you wonder if the bear has a happy or a lonely life.

These illustrations are in a book my father brought from a trip to Japan, way back in the sixties. I love the layout of these pages!

And finally, I made another mosaic, with cute and lovely things.

Gustaf Tenggren

While clearing my daughters room, I found a little book illustrated by Gustaf Tenggren.
I think he draws the cutest cats ever. He also did a few golden books.

Comforting things

Feeling blue, trying hard to look at the bright side of life...is this chilly summer to blame?
It makes me long for evenings by the fireside with a hot chocolate and a good book. August is not quite the time for that, I'm afraid.

A not so nice start of the week

Monday I had to take our cat Punt to the vet, as he is getting thinner and thinner. This is caused by an excess of thyroid hormones, but it can be treated. I hope it's not to late for him.
Wednesday started as a nice day, but during my morning walk, I stumbled and fell on my knee and right hand. A bit of blood and a lot of pain! At first I was afraid my thumb was broken, but luckily that was not the case.

But I felt a lot better already when I found this in the mailbox:

cute fabrics for my new quilt, which I bought on ebay

and a Boden catalogue!

And I can knit again, this was not possible for two days, my thumb was hurting too much.

Green, green, green

After a day of weeding in my garden, I have a tendency to see everything green.
I made another mosaic, and this time I forgot to put the links underneath them, and I seem to have lost them! Stupid!
But I like the pictures, so I put them here anyway!

And I made another collage...

I love my coffeebreak while gardening!

Back to business

During our week at the seaside, we had a spectacular sunset every day.
And now, it's back to reality: tidying up our messy house and garden...

Block#1

Summer at last

Summer squash for making soup (out of the garden of Hélène and Thierry, my dear friends).

Punt sleeping in the shade.

Colours I like in summer: red and orange.
