A few sketches in Paris

Paris in black and white

Paris shopping

We had very little time in Paris, only 7 hours, so we had to spend it well!
We started at the Galeries Lafayette, and admired the stunning balconies.

Then we went for some window shopping, strolling trough Paris.
These dolls were admired by this little girl, and by me of course. I prefer the one at the left, with the blue beret.
And in this shop, near the Opera, you could find all kinds of tin toys.

And here I bought one of these fabulous notebooks!

A preview...

I went to Paris a few days ago. Due to the end of the schoolyear, a lot of computerwork and heaps of ironing, I will post all my drawings and pictures in the weekend.
But here are already 4 postcards I bought, all cute in their own way.

Collecting

One of the things I can't resist buying: beautiful tins, old and new ones. Here are a few tins I found on the shelves in my studio.

Peter and the wolf, oh, I love this one!

Detail of a very old biscuit tin.

Inside is a scented candle.

Peter Rabbit on an Easter egg

...and a "Tintin" tin.

More cats

Girls night

Every week, we come together with a few friends to craft, chat, eat and drink.
Seems like we are all in a crochet period now!

Green and pink coat

I want these coats and I want them now, but I'm afraid you can only find this brand, "Avoca", in Ireland and the USA...
If you know a shop that sells this brand in Belgium, France, Holland, let me know please!

Our June garden

This makes me so happy! I discovered this beauty in our pond today!

Our cats

I have neglected the drawing a bit...blame it on the crocheting, knitting, sewing, reading, and of course the work at the computer and in the house and the garden.
My subject for this week: our lazy, lovely cats!

This is our oldest cat, Ward. He is almost sixteen years old, and hard to take a picture of!
He's the sweetest and smartest cat in the world!

Et voilà...un sac!

Yesterday night, I finished my first bag! Although it's better not to look too close at it (I'm not a pro at the sewing machine), I know already that I will use it a lot:

for my crafting projects

...or my books!

Old magazine clippings

I have piles and piles of magazines, and instead of throwing them away just like that, I'm going to make collages like this.
Always nice to look at for inspiration!

A sewing project

I want to make this bag (pattern in Marie Claire Idées) with these fabrics. I want to take it on holiday with me, so this will be a quick project! The fabric with the blue bird was bought by my mother in the sixties, and it's a Boussac fabric. I didn't like it for years, and now I do. It's strange how your taste changes.

Lucy's quilt to be

Some more fabrics I bought last weekend for my new quilt.

I want to use this colour scheme as an inspiration for the quilt, have to find the polka dots!

Hydrangeas

I love these flowers, in all their shapes and colours. They lighten up my dark, woodland garden.

Plunk

This is a comic character created by my husband, he is called Plunk, and I loved to embroider him!

Dreamhouses

While browsing a few books, I found the houses where I want to live:

in the USA

in Sweden

or in France.
